Get to Know Bridgeville, PA

The village that would eventually become Bridgeville got its name because of the first bridge that was built at the crossing of Chartiers Creek at what is now Washington Avenue.  A lot of people frequently crossed this bridge to trade goods.

The community was officially incorporated as a borough in July 1901 using parts of the Upper St. Clair Township. Today, this community is home to a number of family-owned and operated businesses, such as Colussy Chevrolet (the oldest Chevy dealer in the country) as well as Sarasnick's (a historical Bridgeville home improvement store).
